Baahubali 2 Set for Grand Re-Release in October

Dubela, Amritangshu Paul: On the occasion of Baahubali 2 completing eight glorious years, the makers have announced that they will re-release the film both nationally and internationally this October. Producer Shobu Yarlagadda, whose Arka Media Works produced the massively popular blockbuster directed by S.S. Rajamouli, shared the exciting news with fans on his X timeline.
He wrote, “And on this special day, I am thrilled to inform you all that we are planning an Indian and international re-release of @BaahubaliMovie this October. It won’t just be a re-release; it will be a year of celebrations for our beloved fans! Expect nostalgia, new reveals, and a few epic surprises along the way. Stay tuned! #ReliveTheEpic! #BaahubaliReturns.” On April 28, 2017, Baahubali 2 was released across more than 9,000 screens worldwide.
Made on a massive budget of ₹250 crore, it grossed over a whopping ₹1,800 crore globally, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of all time and the first film to cross the ₹1,000 crore mark. Even in 2025, Baahubali 2 remains the highest-grossing film in India.
Apart from becoming a global box office success, Baahubali 2 received critical acclaim. It won awards both nationally and internationally, including three National Film Awards — for Best Stunt Choreography, Best Special Effects, and Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment — at the 65th National Film Awards. It also won the prestigious Saturn Award for Best International Film at the 44th Saturn Awards.
