Convict Threatens and Abuses Women Judge Inside Delhi Courtroom After Conviction
Dubela, Riddhi Biswas: A disturbing incident unfolded at Delhi’s Dwarka Court, where Judicial Magistrate Shivangi Mangla was abused and threatened by a convict immediately after she announced a conviction order in a six-year-old cheque bounce case.
The situation escalated when the convict, visibly agitated, shouted at the judge, saying, “Tu hai kya cheez… tu bahar mil. Dekhte hai kaise zinda ghar jaati hai.” According to Judge Mangla’s statement, the convict also tried to throw an object at her inside the courtroom after the verdict, which caused a sudden outburst in the courtroom.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of judicial officers within court premises. Judge Shivangi Mangla has referred the matter to the District and Sessions Judge for further action and has urged the National Commission for Women to take the necessary steps.
