CRPF Jawan Dismissed After Marrying a Pakistani Woman

Dubela, Ankesh Roy: A CRPF jawan, Munir Ahmed, was dismissed from his duty for marrying a Pakistani woman and giving her shelter after the woman’s visa expired. Authorities took this decision as this threatens our national security.

The jawan was dismissed after the authorities decided that it was violating his service conducting rules and opposing a threat to the national security. This decision was taken because the jawan was sheltering the Pakistani women even beyond her visa validity. This decision was taken after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Ahmed met this woman online and formed a bond with her and decided to get married in an online nikah in May 2024. After their marriage the woman came to India in March 2025 after a long wait for visa approval. Even after her visa expires on March 22 she stayed in India. After the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack the Pakistani woman Minal Khan received notice for leaving India immediately. Just before her dismissal from India at Attari-Wagah border she was granted a court relief for staying in India. This incident raises concerns on the security risks within the security forces.

The jawan fails to inform about his marriage and his wife’s overstay in India which was itself a concerning matter for the national security. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam the tension between India and Pakistan have increased to a much higher extent. India has suspended trade and diplomatic missions with Pakistan. There is high tension at borders and air space. India has also suspended the Indus water treaty with Pakistan.
