Teachers Protest at Bikash Bhavan Over Job Uncertainty; CPI(ML) Liberation Slams State Government

Dubela, Anuja Chakraborty: Thousands of teachers and education workers continued their blockade at Bikash Bhavan, the administrative hub of West Bengal’s education department, demanding job security amid deepening uncertainty. In a sharply worded press statement, the CPI(ML) Liberation’s West Bengal unit held the state government and the SSC recruitment scam responsible for the crisis, claiming that years of corruption have pushed educators to the brink.

Party leader Partha Ghosh highlighted that despite repeated public promises from the Chief Minister, no concrete resolution has been offered to those affected. “Teachers who have been living in uncertainty for months are still trapped in darkness,” the statement read. The protest turned violent when alleged goons linked to local MLA and Bidhannagar Mayor Sabyasachi Dutta reportedly attacked peaceful demonstrators. Several teachers were injured, prompting strong condemnation from the party and demands for the immediate arrest of those responsible.

Protesting teachers have insisted that the Chief Minister herself must come to Bikash Bhavan and hold talks with them. CPI(ML) Liberation supported the demand, urging the Chief Minister to take full administrative responsibility to resolve the deadlock through direct engagement with the aggrieved educators.
