WB Congress Demands Education Minister’s Dismissal After Teachers Beaten in Protest

Dubela, Satrajit Das: The West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee has launched a scathing attack on the ruling Trinamool government following reports of violent action against protesting teachers. In a press statement issued today, WB Congress President Shubhankar Sarkar alleged that the government has lost all moral authority to remain in power.
The remarks come after visuals surfaced showing teachers allegedly being beaten with shoes and lathis during a protest in the state capital. Calling the incident barbaric, Sarkar demanded the immediate dismissal of the education minister, holding the government accountable for both the violence and the larger recruitment scandal involving the sale of jobs under its tenure.
Sarkar further claimed that the people of Bengal are enduring severe hardships in every sector, and that the situation has crossed a critical threshold. He urged citizens to unite and build a collective opposition movement against what he described as a collapsing governance structure. The Congress party’s stance reflects growing political pressure on the Trinamool Congress amid ongoing unrest and controversy in the state’s education sector.
