When the World Sleeps ,India Strikes at the Midnight


On May 7, 2025, around 1.40 AM ( IST) , India initiated ‘Operation Sindoor,’ a series of precision missile strikes targeting nine sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). The Indian Ministry of Defence stated that the operation aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure linked to the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 Hindu tourists in Jammu & Kashmir. India accused Pakistan of harboring militants responsible for the assault.
The targeted locations included camps associated with groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, situated in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Bahawalpur. Notably, no Pakistani military installations were hit, and Indian aircraft did not enter Pakistani airspace. The strikes led to explosions in Muzaffarabad, with reports of civilian casualties, including at least 8 deaths including a three year old girl child and 12 injuries.
In retaliation, Pakistan started mortar shelling on forward villages alongside the Line of Control of J&K.
Indian Army claimed to have shot down one pakistani fighter jet ( JF17) at Srinagar airspace, the passenger flight service at the Srinagar airport has been suspended. Pakistan has closed its airspace for coming 48 hours and declared curfew in Punjab province .
