Defence Ministry Quells Panic Over Rumoured Terror Attack in Nagrota

Dubela, Kankana Maity: Tensions between India and Pakistan may be seeing a brief pause, according to sources within the Indian Army. For now, frequent shelling and drone activity from Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) have stopped.
This welcome lull comes ahead of high-level military talks scheduled for Monday, May 12, between the Directors General of Military Operations from both countries. As part of the preparations, both sides reportedly agreed to temporarily suspend hostilities.
However, the calm hasn’t been uniform. Some concerning incidents were reported along the International Border, particularly in the Jammu and RS Pura sectors. In response, the Border Security Force (BSF) acted swiftly, repelling Pakistani advances and maintaining control on the Indian side.
Tensions were further fueled by reports of Pakistani drones crossing into Indian airspace — a serious violation of international protocols. Despite these provocations, security officials remain confident. “Our forces are fully alert and keeping a close watch on all activities along the border,” said a senior official.
Earlier in the day, rumors of a terror attack in Nagrota caused unnecessary panic. The Defence Ministry dismissed these claims as baseless and urged the public to avoid spreading misinformation during this sensitive period. For now, the border is calm, but the situation remains fragile. Security forces continue to maintain high vigilance, ready to respond to any developments.
