Eastern Railway Increases Security Amid Indo-Pak Tension

Dubela (Edited by Satrajit Das): In light of the current emergency situation, Eastern Railway has implemented immediate and stronger security measures across its entire zone. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF), working together with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and district police, have increased surveillance at key railway stations and along railway tracks within the Eastern Railway area. These steps focus on reducing risks to improve public safety through vigilance and increased manpower.
Safety awareness programs have started at important railway stations to encourage commuters to actively watch for suspicious activities and stay alert. Officers are now posted at level crossing gates and platforms, with patrols becoming almost continuous both at stations and along tracks. Security checks have been tightened to include scanning of luggage and parcels, along with the use of metal detectors. Drug detection dogs will be used more frequently, especially on Mail/Express and EMU trains running through high-risk or VIP-sensitive zones.
Areas with high foot traffic such as PRS counters, cloakrooms, waiting halls, toilets, concourses, and other crowded places will be closely monitored. Random checks and patrols will also be intensified during the night.
