ISI Chief Muhammad Asim Malik is to be the New Security Advisor of Pakistan

Dubela, Anuja Chakraborty: Lieutenant General Mohammed Asim Malik is going to be the New Security Advisor (NSA) of Pakistan. Asim Malik is the current Director General of Pakistan’s spy agency and is also being appointed as the NSA. He will now operate at the center of both intelligence and security departments in Pakistan.

In response to the blood cuddling act of Pahalgam terror attack on April 22nd, where 26 people were killed and the growing unease with India the government, Pakistan has made this decision to strengthen their security. This dual appointment is exceptional and comes amid heightened the tensions with India following the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Lieutenant General Malik previously commanded the infantry division of Balochistan and the infantry Brigade in Waziristan.

This security change is a response to the growing tension between the two counties and the hideous terror attack at Pahalgam. Lieutenant General Mohammad Asim Malik, the new NSA, well serve concurrently in two position to shape the country’s response in the coming months.
