England to hold Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, Finale at Iconic Lord’s

Dubela, Prinona Ghosh: The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that England will host the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The Tournament kicks off on June 12 featuring twelve teams and finale at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
The venues and dates were announced during a launch event at the Lord’s on Thursday. During the championship, a total of 33 matches will take place across 24 days in 7 different venues. The grand finale is scheduled to be held at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on July 5. Lord’s, often referred as the “Home of Cricket”, last hosted a Women’s World Cup final in 2017.
Jay Shah, the Chairman of ICC said, “The confirmation of venues represents a defining moment building towards the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. This tournament will bring together the world’s finest players in a celebration of skills, spirit and sportsmanship.”
Teams like India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, England and Australia already secured their place in the tournament. To be staged the coming year, other teams will be selected through Qualifiers. All the teams will be divided into two groups succeeded by the knockout and the grand finale.
New Zealand’s remarkable win over Laura Wolvaadt’s South Africa at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, last October, marked them as the defending champions. India is yet to win the title, reaching their first-ever final in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 held at the Melbourne Cricket ground against Australia.
