India Breaks Pakistan’s Attack, Hits Back with Operation Sindoor

Dubela, Jit Roy (Edited by Anuja Chakraborty): India intercepted a large-scale strike from Pakistan late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. Pakistan attempted to attack several military targets in 15 cities, including locations in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Gujarat. They used drones and missiles, but India’s defence systems, like the S-400, successfully blocked them. As a countermeasure, India launched a counterattack by destroying Pakistan’s air defence systems in places like Lahore. India used HARPY drones to destroy these defences and intercepted the incoming missiles.

This happened just a day after India launched Operation Sindoor. In this operation, Indian forces bombed terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The airstrikes started at 1:05 am and lasted 25 minutes. India dropped 24 bombs, including HAMMER smart bombs and SCALP missiles. More than 100 terrorists were killed in this attack. Indian forces targeted Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, groups known for past attacks in India.

According to India, this action was retaliation for the terror attack on April 22 in Pahalgam. In that attack, four terrorists from The Resistance Front killed 26 people, many of them civilians. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India’s strikes were carefully planned to avoid Pakistani army positions. He emphasized that while India seeks peace, it will respond strongly if provoked.

Since the April 22 attack, Pakistan has increased firing across the border in areas like Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, and others. So far, 16 Indian civilians, including children and women, have died. One Indian soldier was also killed.

India is now collecting parts of the destroyed Pakistani drones and missiles as proof of Pakistan’s involvement in cross-border terrorism. The Indian government said Operation Sindoor is still ongoing and warned Pakistan that any new attacks will receive stronger responses.
