Prime Minister Inaugurates Three Warships in Kolkata; Two to Sail for Andaman Today
Dubela News: In a significant step towards strengthening India’s maritime security, the Prime Minister inaugurated three advanced warships at a special ceremony in Kolkata on Sunday. The event was attended by senior officials of the Indian Navy, defence personnel, government representatives, and other dignitaries. The newly commissioned warships are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, advanced radar systems, modern communication equipment, and enhanced defence capabilities. According to naval officials, the vessels will play a crucial role in safeguarding India’s maritime interests and enhancing surveillance and operational readiness in strategic waters.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening the country’s naval power and promoting self-reliance in the defence sector. He stated that the induction of these warships reflects India’s growing capability in defence manufacturing and its commitment to ensuring national security. Following the inauguration, Navy authorities announced that two of the three warships would depart for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands later in the day. Their deployment is aimed at enhancing maritime surveillance, strengthening coastal security, and improving India’s strategic presence in the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. The third warship will remain under the Eastern Naval Command for operational duties and training exercises.
Defence experts noted that the Andaman and Nicobar Islands occupy a strategically important position in the Indian Ocean region. The deployment of advanced naval assets in the area is expected to further boost India’s maritime defence capabilities and strengthen its ability to monitor key international sea routes. The ceremony concluded with a display of naval precision and patriotism, highlighting India’s continued efforts to modernize its armed forces. The induction of the three warships is being viewed as a major milestone in enhancing the operational strength of the Indian Navy and safeguarding the nation’s maritime borders.
