Kolkata’s protest rally against corrupt education system of India
Dubela, Tanisha Das: On 20th of July, the youth of Kolkata were found on the streets protesting against the corrupt education system of India. All of them protested against the police lathi-charge on the students protesting in Jantar Mantar, Delhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Nearly 1500 people walked from Jadavpur 8B to Golpark to show their protest. This protest was organised by Left Student Organisations and the Student Youth Fraternity. Presidency University students also held a protest rally in College Street. Jadavpur University teachers, non-teaching staff and students also had a protest meeting in Aurobindo Bhavan.
People of Kolkata, especially the youth, showed their support for Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike through their protest rally. The protesters also demanded the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.
