Ayodhya Shines for Ram Navami with ‘Surya Tilak’ and Festive Spirits

Dubela, Riddhi Biswas: The holy city of Ayodhya is glowing with festive spirit as it prepares to celebrate Ram Navami on the auspicious day of April 6th, marking the birth of Lord Rama. A final trial of the much-anticipated Surya Tilak ceremony was conducted on Saturday and was a grand event.
The trial, which lasted for approximately eight minutes, drew attention from scientists across India and abroad. The Surya Tilak, an astronomical marvel, is designed to allow a focused beam of sunlight to illuminate the idol of Ram Lalla exactly at 12 noon on Ram Navami every year, symbolically celebrating the day his of birth.
Preparations for the grand celebration are in full swing. A day ahead of the festival, the city of Ayodhya has already begun to witness a rise in devotional energy. The ‘Mangala Aarti’ is scheduled to begin at 4 a.m., followed by ‘darshan’ and the ‘abhishek’ ritual at 9 a.m. The Surya Tilak will be the centerpiece at noon, drawing thousands of pilgrims from across the country.
Apart from the religious ceremonies, many devotees are also turning to astrological rituals on this auspicious day. As per ancient Hindu beliefs, performing certain spiritual acts on Ram Navami can help reduce negative effects of planets. Devotees are expected to engage in offerings, chants, and charitable acts with hopes of divine blessings and fulfilled wishes.
With this spiritual enthusiasm and deep-rooted tradition blending seamlessly, this year’s Ram Navami celebrations in Ayodhya are set to be historic.
