Madan Mitra left Kalighat TMC

Dubela, Tanisha Das: Madan Mitra, a senior TMC MLA from Kamarhati, left Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee and joined the rebel TMC group by Ritabrata Banerjee. He also resigned from all of his positions in the Kalighat TMC. A day before joining the rebel group, the Enforcement Directorate [ED] summoned his wife and 2 sons in a money laundering case. But even now, it is not yet very clear whether he has changed the party to safeguard himself from the ED or not.

Just 2 weeks before Madan Mitra left, he and Kunal Ghosh were given the position of state general secretary. He was a winning MLA of Kamarhati and a long-term soldier of the party. He has worked really hard for the party and has always been by Mamata Banerjee’s side in every kind of situation. Therefore, it was really shocking for the party supporters to accept that he is leaving the party in this kind of crisis period.

Madan Mitra stated that he has changed his room, not his house, and he is still very much a part of Trinamool Congress.
